One of the most popular designs in Ibanez history, the SA was designed for players who wanted the S combination of lightweight comfort with heavy mahogany tones, but with a flat back. It's also one of the most versatile designs. If you've need to cover a wide range of styles and tones with just one guitar, this is the one guitar.

The powerful SZ is a relatively recent offshoot of the Ibanez S family. Like the S, the SZ is mahogany and sized perfectly for performance. But the SZ is thicker for even more screaming fat mahogany tone and its 25.1" has a different feel than the 25.5" scale of the S.

Abandoning the strategy of copying "classic" electric guitar designs, newer models incorporate more modern elements into their design, such as radical body shapes, slimmer necks and flatter fingerboards (which allowed for faster playing), higher-output electronics and colorful finishes. Ibanez also consults well-known guitar players, such as Kevin 'Noodles' Wasserman, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons, George Benson, John Petrucci, and Sam Totman, creating signature models made to the players' specifications.
